Press Report – UK Cross Challenge – Event 4 – Milton Keynes

Andrew Butchart consolidated his Cross Country Season with another top class performance at the UK Cross Country event in Milton Keynes.  Facing a field packed with fellow International athletes Butchart ensured he was up with the pace from the gun running with a group of seven athletes until the final lap.  It was here that Southend AC’s Adam Hickey kicked on to take victory with a 29min 30secs timing for the 9500metres course.  Andrew used his finishing speed to good effect to ensure an excellent second place in 29min 49secs with Welsh athlete Dewi Griffiths a close up third with 29min 50secs.  Dale Colley showed he is rounding into good form ahead of the Scottish National Cross Country Championships with a superb run for tenth place overall and third Under 20 on the day with 31mins 8secs.
