The Forth Valley team (made up of Central, Falkirk, Livingston and Dunfermline) made it a historic first match win at the last match of the Scottish Women’s Athletic League at Grangemouth on Sunday. Stats books show a single second place over the last 17 years or so since the league was re-formated to allow composite regional teams in a single Premier League with teams feeding in athletes from over 30 clubs. Match points were 1) Forth Valley 434.50 2) Edinburgh AC 431 3) Aberdeen AC 415 4) Tayside & N,E Fife 403.5 5) Pitreavie AC 334 6) VP Glasgow 302 7) Team West 279 8) Lothian 278 .
Central athletes competing were Shona McLay, Amy Kirkpatrick, Coirstadh Ainsworth (u13); Abby and Lucy Davison, Anna Cameron, Emma Mailer, Skye Henderson, Heather Scott (u15), Jessica Cleland, Fiona Davies Sally McPherson, Catriona Laing (u17s) and in senior team Lucy Mason, Emily Watson, Emily Batchelor, Emma Boyle, Sarah Pearson, Lydia Simpson and Lyndsay Morrison (a couple of under 17s were sneaked in there to boost this team). Across the board, high level of performance from Central and other Forth Valley team-mates, but winning 3 out the 4 sprint relays, with a very close second in the senior relay and a credible 4th in the 4 x 400m were the source of the final points difference over Edinburgh..
