East District Cross Country at Aberdeen

Central AC make their annual outing in the East District

Central’s men have won 11 out of the last 12 events. It was 2004 when a young Central team beat the then dominant Edinburgh AC team (previous 4 wins in a row). For the senior women it has been  4 wins in the same period. Individual winners were Robert Russell and Morag MacLarty of Central at the start of an era.

What will happen this Saturday? With almost 50 Central athletes entered, it could be another good day in history of club? As it is also the main selection for the Inter-District matches (under 13 to seniors) in Holyrood Park amongst the televised events it’s an important opportunity for our developing athletes.

The event is well previewed at http://www.scottishathletics.org.uk/21936-2/

To get their numbers, remember runners just need to find their respective team managers (Derek Easton, Jane Waterhouse for seniors and Mary Kerr or her nominees for juniors) at or around the Central tent on the course. If you are no longer running please let team managers know.
