The Inter-Counties Cross Country at Loughborough were held on Saturday 10 March on what can only be described as the muddiest cross country course imaginable. The whole venue and large parts of the course were a porridge of deep mud.
The highlight race of the day for Scotland was the Under-15 Girls race with Scotland West taking the team golds following by Scotland East with the team silvers. It is the first time in an Inter-Counties Cross Country that Scottish Districts have won two set of team medals in the same race. Playing her part in this little piece of history was Central Athletic Club’s Carrie Banks who followed up her ninth place in the Scottish National Championships by closing in the East team’s counters on a jubilant day for Carrie and Scotland East.
