Under-13 Boys relay team

The second Youth Development League match on 28 May at Grangemouth Stadium saw some great new personal bests for Central AC athletes in all age groups, resulting in the club moving up a position on the leader board.

For the Under-13 boys there was a new personal best for Robb Ferguson in the 75m Hurdles as he took second place and for both Ethan Thomson and Robb again in the 200m.  In the longer distances, Jamie Oldham gained a new PB in the 800m and Conor Bell won the 1,500m. In the field events Robb improved his best in the Long Jump while in the Shot Put, Alex Dunlop also gained a new PB at the heavier 3kg weight. The Under-13 Boys team was completed by Joshua Kennedy, Dylan McCulloch and Ethan Sorley.

Under-15 Boys relay team

Despite injury and illness on the day, the Under-15 boys team produced new personal bests through Sandy Buchanan (300m), Finlay Marchant (200m), Ethan Thomson (800m), Tom Duncan (Long Jump and 80m Hurdles), Scott Hopper (Shot Put and Javelin), Euan Docherty (Discus) and Andrew McLay (Discus and Shot Put). Finlay Muir ran a season’s best for a win in the 800m in 2:12.58 while Tom Duncan won his 80m Hurdles B heat in 13.56 competing for the first time in that event. Euan Campbell, Struan Craig, Euan Docherty, Tom Duncan, Cameron Kerr and Euan Wilbert completed the team.

Under-13 Girls relay team

A number of the Under-13 Girls were competing for the first time in competition, with new personal bests for Brogan McMillan (1,200m), Orly Mitchell Murray (Long Jump and Javelin), Emily Guest (Shot Put), Danielle Abel (Long Jump) and Elizabeth Woods (800m and Javelin) with Danielle Abel, Marissa Welsh, Catriona Kane completing the team.

In the Under-15 Girls team, new personal bests came from Katherine Fowler (100m), Megan Dunlop (200m), Erin Miller (200m), Becky Cumming (300m and Discus), Amy Cully (800m), Grace Tindall (1,500m), Cora Morgan (75m Hurdles) and Shannon Glen (Javelin). Coirilidh Cook won her hurdles race in 11.44s in fine style. Louise Carroll, Naomi Howlieson, Grace Tindall, Ellie Ross, Amy Johnston, Anna Mackinnon and Amy Faunce-Smith completed the team.
