Club Cross Country – 14 November Airthrey Castle

The second race in the Central Athletic Club’s Cross-Country Series was held around the Stirling University Playing Fields on the morning of 14 November taking advantage of a gap between the almost incessant rain of recent days.xc Airthrey nov 15

Daniel Bruce (7min 34secs) produced a strong and determined run to reverse the leading positions from the first races with his Under 13 rival Cameron Blance also showing resolve to finish in 7.42. Once again there was a large turnout in this age group with Finlay Muir (8.02), Cameron Fraser (8.03), Angus Henderson (8.04) and Jacob Organ (8.07) vying for positions throughout. Thomas Woods and Cameron Dinwoodie battled to the line together in 8.13 ahead of James Brown (8.30) and Toby Mooney (9.34). Euan Campbell continued his strong early season form to again led home the Under 11 Boys with 7.44 ahead of Cameron Kerr (7.56), Connor Bell (8.47), Jack Campbell (9.10), Struan Craig (9.16), Ross McKenzie (9.22), Finlay Marchmant (9.32), Andrew Twigg (9.40), Cameron Dowie (10.05), Cameron Brown (10.07), Kieran Mooney (10.27) and debutante Archie Baxter (10.42). Sam Burton was top Under 15 (8.12) ahead of Ross Coombs (9.35) while Under 9 runner Killian Trenholm came through well in 9.21.Race to the line

The Under 13 Girls provided a close race with Kyra Gibb (7.43), Rosie Eckersley (7.45) and Amy Kirkpatrick (7.53) filling the top three places. Ciorsaidh Ainsworth completed the course in 8.11 ahead of Katie Burr (8.54) and Naomi Howlieson (9.11). The Under 15 age group was headed by Darcy Baxter (8.57) with Hannah Blance (9.15) and Millie Stokoe (9.21) also running well. Elise Graham Marr (9.03) was the top Under 11 Girl on the day ahead of promising runs from Rachel Dinwoodie (9.26), Summer MacLean (9.48), Ellen Montgomery (9.50), Ellie Ross (9.52), Hana Littlejohn (10.08), and Ellie Watson 10.15). It was great to see Under 9’s Alana Kerr (10.01) and Elizabeth Woods (10.26) competing well with the older girls.The leaders showing resolve
Once again there was great organisation from David Eckersley, Raymond Milne, Kenny Hislop, Mark Ainsworth and Joanne Brown plus a group of athlete and parent timekeepers and recorders.
