Central AC takes part in a variety of competitions throughout the year featuring the full range of track and field events from sprints and relays to endurance, hurdles, jumps and throws. There are competitions for all age groups and abilities. Full details can be found in our Guide to Competition. The following is a brief summary.
From April to September competitions take place outdoors at a variety of venues. The club enters several league events, from the Forth Valley League for under 11s-15s up to the senior Mens’ and Womens’ leagues. There are also open graded events at Grangemouth Stadium on the first Wednesday of each month, http://www.falkirkcommunitytrust.org/venues/grangemouth-stadium/ogm.aspx and Club Time Trials at Stirling University on the last Thursday of each month, which are open to all, monthly throughout the summer. Check our Facebook page at the time – usually registration trackside from 6.15pm.
For those wishing to compete at a higher level there are championships at district, Scottish and for the very best, UK level, along with international events.
Team Managers within the Club will endeavour to select athletes for events based on the individual’s times. Therefore ensure you attend Time Trials and Open Graded Meetings
The club runs two major events at Grangemouth each year, the pre-season meeting in March and the Club Championships in September for all our athletes. These events also attract guest entries from other clubs. In addition, there are other open events like the Tayside Pentathlon in September.
