Central Athletic Club is proud to present the 18th annual City of Stirling 10k, which is again hosting the Scottish Athletics 10k road race championships. The fast, flat and scenic route is the same as last year and offers something to runners of all abilities. Starting and finishing outside The Peak at Stirling Sports Village, it is preceded by a 2k fun run for children aged 7 to 15.

There are individual prizes for 3 age groups in the fun run and, in the 10k, for age groups from 15 up to 60+. The 10k also offers prizes for the first male and female teams and, of course, Scottish championship individual and team medals.

There is a limit of 1,000 entries for the 10k and there will be no entries for either race on the day, so enter now!

FAQs

How do I enter?

Entries are through the Sport Systems website:

https://register.primoevents.com/ps/event/Stirling10k2kFunRun2019

Where do I get further information and my number?

All entrants will receive a confirmation email once entries are closed, and will be able to check the entrants’ list on the Sport Systems website. Numbers and chips will be sent out a couple of weeks before the race. Those who enter very close to the race will be able to pick up their packs on the day.

If you have an entry query, you can email ku.oc1573760869.smet1573760869systr1573760869ops@s1573760869eiriu1573760869qne1573760869

When is it and where does it start?

The race starts at Forthbank Stadium in Stirling – Sunday 8 September 2019. The 2k Fun Run will start at 9.30am and the 10k race will start at 10.15am.

Do you have to be a Club runner to enter the 10k?

No, definitely not! The race is open to anyone aged 15 or over.

Is it a tough course?

No – the course is flat and fast – ideal for first time 10k runners, or those of you looking for an improved time.

Can I just walk the 10k for fun?

This is a 10k road race and we don’t really recommend it for walkers. The course will not be marshalled or policed from about 11.20am so we couldn’t guarantee the safety of participants finishing after this time.

Do I have to enter before the race?

Yes – entry website details are above. Applications will be accepted through the Primo Events website until shortly before the event or until the race limit is reached – so make sure you get your entry in early. 2K runners must also enter in advance.

Is the 2k Fun Run only for kids?

It is intended as a children’s event, but we won’t turn you away so long as you agree to play nicely. An adult must accompany children under 8 years old.
