Central Athletic Club is proud to present over our usual well-established courses.

Entries for all 3 events are now open on EntryCentral.

50p from each entry will be donated to our charity partner The Canmore Trust which is a local charity who aim to create safe spaces for lives impacted by suicide.

For updates keep an eye on the event’s Facebook page (@PODFather Stirling 10k) or Instagram (@stirling10k).

Run on our traditional course, our super fast route offers fantastic views of Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument and the Ochil Hills. Each year we see a large number of finishers running their personal bests and that makes the race very attractive to runners from all over Scotland! Despite the super fast times recorded each year, our race is not only for the speedy runners! It doesn’t matter if you run 30 minutes or 1 hour 30 minutes, everyone is welcome and the last finisher will get just as big a cheer as the first finisher! Our aim is to give all runners the chance of doing their best time but enjoying it whilst they do so.

Race details

We had a fantastic event in 2024 with the race being sold out with a record entry. We offered a whole range of race day features for our runners and we received great feedback after the event, so we have brought them back again this year!  Some features for 2025 include:

  • Fast, flat course
  • Pacers to 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 minutes. Easily identifiable by carrying a flag with target time
  • A piper at the most scenic part of the course as you approach Wallace Monument.
  • Stirling University Cheerleading Squad suppporting our runners at 1.5k and 8.5k.
  • Music on the course.
  • FREE pre and post race massage at the start/finish area.
  • Choose a race t-shirt, or, thanks to us working with Trees not Tees, we can plant a tree in your name with certification and picture emailed to you
  • Ladies fit t-shirts available (if opted for)
  • Race medals can be purchased for a small additional cost at sign up
  • Clock at half-way for 5k split time
  • Goody bag for all finishers
  • Instructor-led warm up
  • Bouncy castles and face painting to keep kids entertained!

The race is run under Scottish Athletics rules.

2k and 3.5k Fun Runs

Our 2k fun run is for ages 5 to 9 and will start at 9.20am. The fun run is an out and back and follows the 10k route to the 1km mark where runners turn and head back in to the finish.

Our 3.5k fun run is for ages 10 to 14 and also follows the 10k route to the 1km marker where runners will be directed straight on at the mini roundabout along Forthside Way to the next mini roundabout. Runners turn right for a short section then turn right again on to the river path which joins back on to the 1km to go marker and back to the finish line.

Adults are more than welcome to run with youngsters on the day, just no dipping at the finish line! There is no need for adults to sign up.

All finishers will receive a goody bag.

When is it?

All the races are on Sunday 8 September 2024: both Fun Runs start at 9.20 and the 10k starts at 10.15.

How do I find the car park and start?

The race starts and finishes at The Peak at Stirling Sports Village in Stirling. The nearest postcode to the start and car park is FK7 7UJ. If you’re using What Three Words, it’s ///ironic.sentences.switched

There is parking at both Forthbank Stadium and St Modan’s High School and traffic marshals will be in attendance to direct you. These car parks are likely to fill up so once they are full parking can be found in Stirling Retail Park which is a short walk from the start. Traffic marshals will again direct to this area.

There are a number of electric charging points close by at Forthbank Stadium and at both Stirling Retail Park park and ride (800m from start/finish) and a large number near The Vue Cinema just after the 1km mark.

Runners are advised not to use Morrison’s supermarket car park and should not park on the clearway at The Peak.

Do you have to be a Club runner to enter the 10k?

No, definitely not! The race is open to anyone aged 15 or over.

Can I wear headphones?

To ensure that participants can hear traffic noise and instructions from marshals, we do not allow the wearing of headphones except bone-conduction headphones.

Do I have to enter before the race?

Yes – entry details are above. Make sure you get your entry in early!

Can I run with a buggy or with a dog?

Sorry, but for the safety of all participants, we do not allow runners to run with a buggy or a dog.
