4J National Junior Indoor Track Relays

Fantastic day at the Emirates for our junior Central athletes with 3 teams competing in the 4J National Indoor Relay Championship Finals on Sunday 12 February 2023 at the Emirates Arena.

The Under-17 Men smashed their qualifying time by 2 seconds and managed to push to their limit to take gold by 3 hundredths of a second in one of the races of the day. Amazing performance guys! This was the second quickest ever by an Under-17 Men’s team in club history behind the last team to win the national title in 2016. Huge congratulations to Dylan McCulloch, Lewis Miller, Jonah Whitby and Ken Young.

Under-13 Boys – a huge personal best for the team knocking a full 3 seconds off their qualifying time in the final. It wasn’t quite enough to see them medal on this occasion but was a great run, and the smiles in their team photo tell the real story. Well done Lewis Munro, Jack Campbell, Kyle McPake and Cameron McCallum – Central boys looking strong for years to come!

The Under-17 Women delivered a tremendous performance taking 1.5 seconds from their qualifying time to finish in sith place with Emily stepping up an age group to complete the team – an outstanding result! Great effort Loren Stewart, Emily Stanford, Rowan Calveley and Tabitha MacKenzie.
