Stirling University Base
Stirling University Campus
The Stirling group is our largest group and meets at Stirling University track twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm to 8.30pm.
There are a number of training groups at Stirling.
The Reception and Development Group is led by Beccy Osborn and her team. The Reception group gives the younger athletes (from about age 11 / P7) a firm grounding in all aspects of athletics basics and our focus is on fun and athletics development across all athletic events. We take many of our athletes via the Central AC Clubstart programme. The Development group continues to emphasise the basic elements of athletics allied to a harder work ethic and caters for athletes that have progressed from the Reception Group across all combined events.
We encourage all our athletes to compete in competitions (indoor and outdoor athletics and cross country) both individually and in club competitions.
Stirling is also where all our Event Group level training takes place when athletes are at the appropriate stage of their athletic journey. The Junior Endurance Group is led by Rhona Scott and works with the young members of the Club who have shown a desire to follow an endurance based path. Junior Sprints & Hurdles are led by Cameron Smith and in addition we have Junior Combined Events (Will Hogg). All our Lead Coaches work with a fantastic team of enthusiastic Assistant Coaches and Parent Helpers.
A large senior endurance group is coached by Derek Easton, and caters for the club’s senior endurance members.
