Central Athletic Club has a proud record in road running competition, and we also host the PODFather Stirling 10k in September each year.

Scottish Athletics Senior and Masters (Over-40) road running championship events at various distances (5km, 10km, half marathon and marathon) are usually hosted by an existing race, so you can stand on the startline with champions.

Scottish Athletics hold road running relay championships for Seniors, usually in March each year. The Senior relays comprise six legs in the men’s race and four legs in the women’s race.

For Juniors, Scottish Athletics stage Young Athletes Road Races in March for Under-13, Under-15 and Under-17 age groups with individual and team prizes.

Full details of the Scottish Athletics championships and many other road races can be found in the Scottish Athletics fixture calendar.

There are also many road races which are not registered with Scottish Athletics and you can find details of them by searching online or by looking at listings sites (such as Run ABC, Half Marathon List or Find a Race). Almost all races take entries online and in advance, either on their own event site or through entry sites such as EntryCentral or SI Entries.

We have compiled a list of club all-time road running rankings, which can be found on our Club athlete rankings page.
