The evening of Thursday 21 December saw the 24th edition of the Central Athletics Club Christmas Handicap and once again it was a cracker!
Ongoing construction works in the University Campus forced the course to be changed for the first time in its history but the changes seem to be universally approved and following the recent trend the ladies were the cream of the crop.
Grace Whelan had an outstanding run to win the title on her first attempt and was closely followed home by Kim Milne who repeated her runners up spot from last year. Colin McCreadie showed he had fully recovered from his recent New York Marathon efforts by clinching third place just ahead of last year’s winner Laurie Douglas. Let’s hear it for the girls !
Cameron Milne recorded the fastest lap just ahead of Jamie Stevenson who was running the race for the first time. The MacMillan twins were the fastest Juniors and Jen Wetton once again recorded the quickest lap amongst the ladies.
The results are available in the spreadsheet below ranked in order of Handicap result (Tab “Handicap time”) and running time (Tab “Time taken”).
Special thanks to everyone who helped with the marshalling and recording duties.
