We’ve published the latest Central AC all-time road running rankings – this edition includes results to the end of 2025.
The rankings are also published on the club athlete rankings page.
2025 seems to have been a year of achievement particularly for our young women and old men. It has also seen a lot of new rankings for the 5k distance – probably reflecting the relatively recent emergence of that as a common race distance. Changes from the previous edition are highlighted in yellow: where the details of a performance are highlighted but the athlete’s name is not, the athlete appeared in the ranking list previously with a different performance.
The changes in this edition are mostly from performances during 2025 drawn from Power of 10 (www.thepowerof10.info): the Scottish 5k championship, Stirling 10k, Tillicoultry 10k and the Alloa Half Marathon were some of the most popular road races with club athletes. I’m also still discovering a number of older results, particularly including this year a number of marathon results. I will always be delighted to hear from athletes or their supporters to tell me of performances that I have missed or got wrong.
The data lying behind these spreadsheets includes 167 results from 53 races during 2025 – the intention is to record each athlete’s PB at each distance in the year. There are a total of 358 ranked performances from 81 men and 55 women, drawn from a collection of well over 2500 results dating back to the early 1980s. Ranked performances from 2025 are from:
- Men – Scott Brember, Hugh Buchanan, Andrew Butchart, Jamie Crowe, Alastair Cunningham, David Eckersley, Chris Fullerton, Allan Gall, Tom Graham-Marr, Hamish Hickey, Ross Houston, Ewan Jack, Andrew Mawer, Conan McCaughey, Mario Menier, Lewis Millar, Peter Molloy, Donald Shaw, Gerard Taylor and Aidan Thompson
- Women – Morgan Boyd, Leah Brown, Linda Cunningham, Sally Gallagher, Amy Gough, Anna Hedley, Lynn Hogg, Niamh McKinlay, Morag Millar, Rachel Warden, Jennifer Wetton, Grace Whelan and Tuscany Wright
The intention is to produce a new edition of the rankings annually, so the next edition should appear in early 2027 and include results from 2026.
