Central Athletic Club’s athletes made a significant impact at Friday night’s British Milers Club races at Scotstoun in Glasgow, taking advantage of the high quality races. The meeting doubled as the East and West District 5000 metres championships and Jamie Crowe’s excellent run of 14min 27.25secs won East District Gold and reduced his personal best for the distance. Alastair Hay also proved to be in top form with a season’s best clocking of 14-31.98 to lift the silver medal. Dale Colley, although out of the medals this time around, substantially reduced his personal best with a 15-10.37 clocking.
The 1500 metre series of races saw Aidan Thompson close to his personal best with 3min 56.63secs while Matthew Sutherland came through in a season’s best of 4-12.78. Fraser Logan was pleased with his 4-15.18 personal best as was under-20 athlete Lauren McCulloch as she made a significant step forward with a new personal best of 4-51.65.
