Well done to all athletes, officials and parent helpers that helped us launch the new track facilities in style. Despite the floodgates opening in the sky, there were a lot of good performances and close competition. Wet weather and failing light played havoc with the shot competition with the result that some athletes weren’t able to complete their allotted 3 throws and the results sheet becoming nearly unusable.

Nonetheless, a very enjoyable and fitting way to celebrate the brilliant new facilities for our Balfron group!

We were also able to celebrate the award of £2000 grant to the club for us to buy equipment for Balfron and the club as a whole. Dougie Porteous of ClubSport Stirling and Active Stirling was on hand to present the cheque to David Eckersley and the rest of the Balfron contingent.
