Scotland vests have been awarded for the British Cross Challenge and Euro Cross Trials event at Liverpool later this month and Central Athletic Club are well-represented across the selections with no fewer than seven athletes picked – six men in the three age groups alongside Morag Millar following her silver medal run at the Lindsays Short Course Cross Country.
Early season form has seen Andrew Butchart and Jamie Crowe in the Senior Men’s category, Ben MacMillan, Tom Graham-Marr and Hamish Hickey in the Under-23s and Alastair Marshall in the Under-20 race all awarded Scotland vests. Morag Millar will feature in the blue vest of Scotland in the Senior Women’s race with all the races at Sefton Park on Saturday 27 November.
scottishathletics have picked some 22 athletes across the three age groups so it is great testament to the coaches at Central that almost a third of the Scottish team is made up of their athletes. A quote on the scottishathletics website encapsulates the achievement ‘Selections always recognise and reflect upon years of hard work and commitment to our sport and, of course, the last 18 months of Covid-19 issues have raised a number of hurdles for those seeking to maintain their personal progress.’
