Two of Central’s masters athletes travelled to the British Masters Indoor Championships at the weekend, held at Lee Valley on the north edge of London. On Saturday Cameron Smith was competing in the M45 category and here showed great form to win the 200 Metres in a time of 25.64 seconds. Not to be outdone, Ian McDonald also put on a fine sprinting exhibition to take bronze in the 200 Metres in the M40 race with 25.17s. Both athletes were back on the track for the 60 Metres heats on Sunday with both progressing to their respective finals, Cameron clocking 7.80s and Ian 7.74s. Unfortunately, due to timetable changes, both had to leave before their finals to catch a flight home.
