Scottish National Joint League, 28 July, Aberdeen

Jul 5, 2024

The Scottish National Joint League continues to provide quality track and field competition for Under 17, Under 20, Senior and Masters athletes.

The fourth and final match for 2024 is on Sunday 28 July in Aberdeen and, once again, we are keen to get a good turnout from Central’s athletes. The format for 2024 includes League/Team competition across the age groups and genders and opportunity to compete in a series of graded events. Central AC will not be involved in other track and field league competition during 2024 for these age groups.

The intended timetable for 28 July is in the PDF below – this meeting allows for track competition for 100 Metres, 200 Metres, 300 Metres, 400 Metres, 800 Metres, 1500 Metres, 300 Metres/400 Metres Hurdles, 1500 Metres Steeplechase (U17M), 2000 Metres Steeplechase (U20 and SenM) and field competition in Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Pole Vault, Shot, Discus and Hammer.

There will be sufficient qualified officials and automatic timing to ensure that performances will be shown on Power of 10 and can be used for international selection.

Central AC are required to provide helpers – three at each match and these personnel could change between morning and afternoon.

The names of athletes along with 2022 (or later) personal bests and Scottish Athletics membership numbers must be submitted by Friday 19 July. Scottish Athletics membership numbers must be up to date and will be subject to scrutiny. There are no individual fees for competing as the competing clubs will cover these costs.

Should you be interested in being considered for competition on 28 July, please contact John McDonald by Wednesday 17 July at the latest (mcdonald@johnglenallan.plus.com), with details of preferred event and with any offers of assistance. Late requests for entry are likely to be refused.

This is a great opportunity for some quality competition and to improve your personal bests.
