The Scottish Under-20, Under-15 and Under-13 Championships took place at Grangemouth Stadium over the weekend of 10-11 August 2024, with Central performing well in each. The Under-17 and Senior Championships took place the following weekend.

Scottish Under-20 Championships, 10-11 August 2024
Dylan McCulloch was on superb form at the Scottish Under-20 Championships as he took gold in the 400 Metres. Dylan has been on excellent form all season having improved his best to 48.48s the week before on his way to fifth place at the UK Championships in Birmingham. He was up against the only athlete ranked ahead of him but timed his race right to come through for the win, equalling his personal best with 48.48s for gold.
Ross Lawrie was also on form as he picked up bronze in the Javelin with a throw of 30.73m. Also on the track were Tuscany Wright who took sixth place in the 800 Metres with a time of 2:27.17 and Niamh McKinlay stepped up an age group from Under-17 to take on the 400 Metres and was rewarded with a new personal best 62.71s for 11th fastest time overall.
Scottish Under-15 Championships, 10 August

Central were well represented in the Under-15 age group. Emily Stanford managed to get on the podium taking an excellent bronze medal in the Under-15 Girls 800 Metres as she ran 2:21.36 minutes to place third overall.
Just missing out on the medals was Rory MacMillan who placed fourth in the 1,500 Metres after running 4:43.37 minutes to finish just ahead of his brother Harrison who ran 4:45.03 minutes for sixth. All-rounder Rachel Carvel took fifth place in the High Jump after clearing 1.54m, then placed sixth in the 75 Metres Hurdles in a time of 12.44s.
The 200 Metres event saw new personal bests for Rachel MacLean who ran 28.41s on route to the semi-finals and Elspeth Callan who ran 32.25s.
Scottish Under-13 Championships, 11 August


Central had a few athletes getting their first taste of championship action in the Under-13 age group. Rachel Fullbrook was pick of the bunch as she leapt to a bronze medal in the High Jump as she cleared an excellent new best of 1.41m. Tessa Gray also jumped to a new best as she placed fourth with 1.32m.
Central were well represented in the girls’ sprint events. In the 100 Metres Tessa Gray and Sophia MacMahon both reached the semi-finals, with Tessa running 14.48s and Sophia 14.54s. Summer Johnston ran 15.44s in her heat. In the 200 Metres Tessa and Sophia again progressed to the semi-finals, Sophia running 29.66s and Tessa 30.79s. Summer Johnston also took part in the Shot Put throwing 4.88m for 16th. Sam White took on the boys’ 800 Metres where he ran a new personal best 2:39.86 for fourth in his heat.
