Scottish Schools Athletics Indoor Championships 2023

Some fantastic results from the two day indoor Scottish Schools Athletics competition on Tuesday 31 January and Wednesday 1 February at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow. There were 6 medallists for Central Athletic Club athletes! The championship is contested across Under-15, Under-17 and Under-20 categories, with competitors running in their school colours rather than club colours.

Central’s medallists were:

  • Aaliyah McCloud (Queen Victoria High School) – Gold medal, Under-17 300 Metres. 40.01s, improving her personal best and recently achieved Under-17 women’s indoor club record
  • Mica McCloud (Queen Victoria High School) – Silver medal, Under-17 200 Metres. 26.20s, new personal best
  • Lewis Miller (Dunblane High School) – Silver medal, Under-17 Long Jump. 5.99m, new personal best
  • Catriona Kane (Dunblane High School) – Bronze medal, Under-20 1,500 Metres. 4:59.34
  • Dylan McCulloch (Lornshill Academy) – Bronze medal, Under-17 400 Metres. 51.70s, a new indoor Under-17 men’s club record
  • Loren Stewart (McLaren High School) – Bronze medal, Under-17 Long Jump. 5.18m, equalling her personal best

  • Connie Bateman (McLaren High School) – Under-17 Triple Jump, 8th in 9.38m personal best
  • Connor Bell (Balfron High School) – Under-20 1,500 Metres, 6th in near personal best 3:59.96
  • Abigail Bowie (Dunblane High School) – Under-15 60 Metres, 7th in heat with personal best 9.26s
  • Rowan Calveley (Balfron High School) – Under-17 200 Metres, 6th in semi final in an indoor personal best 28.99s after qualifying 2nd in heat
  • Dara Clark (McLaren High School) – Under-15 High Jump, 4th equalling her personal best at 1.45m, just missed out on bronze on countback. Under-15 Long Jump, 5th in personal best 4.66m
  • Jamie Connor (Dunblane High School) – Under-17 60 Metres Hurdles, 5th in 10.88s
  • Euan Docherty (Dunblane High School) – Under-20 800 Metres, 5th in heat in personal best 2:06.37 minutes
  • Megan Dunlop (McLaren High School) – Under-20 200 Metres, 5th in heat with 28.71s
  • Anna Gunn (Dunblane High School) – Under-15 Long Jump, 25th with 3.27m
  • Micah McCloud (Queen Victoria High School) – Under-17 60 Metres, 5th in 8.04s after a personal best 8.01s in semi final
  • Noah McIntyre-Sim (Dunblane High School) – Under-15 60 Metres, 9.46s
  • Tabitha MacKenzie (McLaren High School) – Under-17 300 Metres, 3rd in heat in personal best 44.93s
  • Ana McKie (Dunblane High School) – Under-15 60 Metres, 6th in heat with personal best 9.02s
  • Niamh McKinlay (McLaren High School) – Under-17 800 Metres, 7th in 2:25.65 after running 2:23.65 in heat
  • Lewis Miller (Dunblane High School) – Under-17 60 Metres, 7.70s personal best in semi-final
  • Ellen Montgomery (Wallace High School) – Under-20 Triple Jump, 4th in 9.69m personal best
  • Alexandra Montgomery (Wallace High School) – Under-15 Shot Put, 6.24m
  • Molly Owen (Dunblane High School) – Under-17 60 Metres in 9.27s and 200 Metres in 31.77s, both personal bests
  • Emily Stanford (McLaren High School) – Under-15 300 Metres, 4th in 44.32s with personal best 43.91s in the semi final
  • Fia Watkin (McLaren High School) – 9th in the Long Jump equalling her personal best of 4.28m
  • Chloe Watt (Balfron High School) – Under-20 200 Metres, 4th in heat with 28.85s. Under-20 60 Metres, 5th in heat with 8.58s
  • Jonah Whitby (Wallace High School) – Under-17 Long Jump, 10th with 5.35m
  • Ken Young (Wallace High School) – Under-17 60 Metres, 7.52s personal best in heat
